The Hollow Metal Trust Fund has recently been notified that as of January 1, 2026, Mount Sinai physicians, and as of March 1st, 2026, hospitals and facilities will no longer be considered “in-network” for the Welfare Fund’s coverage through Independence Administrators (“IA”)/Anthem. For those of our participants who are impacted by this change, you should note that, per New York law, you can continue to receive “in-network” coverage from Mount Sinai until March 1, 2026. However, after this date, you will need to switch to an “in-network” provider or be charged by Mount Sinai at the “out-of-network” rate.

The Hollow Metal Benefit Funds is maintained and administered by a join Board of Trustees on which labor and management are equally represented. The Board of Trustees is responsible for making and enforcing Plan rules and it is responsible for interpreting the Plan provisions uniformly for all participants, with the assistance of the Executive Director and its staff members. The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Trustees, manages the Fund Office, and oversees the day-to-day activities of the Funds.
